Chepstow and Caldicot Lions are deeply saddened to announce the passing to higher service, of Lion Robert Thompson. Lion Rob was a founder member of the club and was instrumental in its charter in 1972. He was the last surviving founder member and the longest serving Lion with over 52 years service. He was a very active Lion and was club President from 1977- 1978 and 1994 - 1995.
Lion Rob contributed to many Lions community projects during his service and was hugely respected by his fellow Lions. Unfortunately in 2018 ill health forced Lion Rob to withdraw from active service but he remained very interested in club activities. Lion Rob is survived by his wife Valerie who has always been a huge support to him and the club in general. We would like to express our sincere condolences to Valerie in her sad loss.
